Lianne Batista graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science (Nursing) degree with a focus on pediatric intensive care. She later returned to U of T to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. During the course of her schooling, she worked as a Certified Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer at various facilities in the GTA.
Lianne has 20 years of experience as a physiotherapist in a variety of clinical settings including sports medicine and general orthopaedic private practice. Since 2004, she has been an examiner for the national Physiotherapy Competency Exam (PCE). She works for the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators as part of a committee which designs the practical stations for the PCE. Lianne is also a clinical preceptor for fourth-year interns from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. She is an active member of both the Orthopaedic Division and the Private Practice Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
In addition to being a Registered Physiotherapist and Registered Nurse, she is also a Registered Acupuncturist, licensed by the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario. Lianne combines her knowledge in these distinct disciplines in order to provide comprehensive, individualized, and holistic care to each and every one of her patients.
